After successfully opening its 2013-14 Mainstage Theater Season with Mel Brooks’ musical comedy “Young Frankenstein,” Aloha Performing Arts Company continues its 27th season at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu with a lineup that offers something for everyone.

“Mark Twain Rides Again,” featuring artistic director Jerry Tracy as Twain, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23 and at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 24. A celebrity guest will make an appearance in the second act.
Roxanne Fox will guest direct a large cast in Barbara Robinson’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” A family of juvenile delinquents attends Sunday school for the snacks and ends up with major roles in the church’s annual Christmas pageant. Performances are Dec. 6 through 22, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
APAC will present “Fiddler on the Roof,” with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and book by Joseph Stein, Feb. 14 through March 9. Set in Tsarist Russia, the Broadway musical is based on stories by Sholem Aleichem.
Lanford Wilson’s dramatic comedy “Hot L Baltimore” will run April 18 through May 4, under the guest direction of Dick Hershberger. The show is set in the lobby of the Hotel Baltimore and focuses on its residents, who are faced with eviction when the decaying property is scheduled for demolition.
Samuel Beckett’s absurdist tragicomedy “Waiting for Godot” will be presented June 13 through 29. In this theatrical masterpiece, two characters wait endlessly and in vain for the arrival of Mr. Godot, while entertaining each other in the meantime.
Sue Boyum returns to Kona to direct the season closer, “Annie, Jr.” This scaled down, streamlined version of the classic Broadway musical features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan. All cast members will be 18 or younger. Production dates are July 18 to 27.
