Talifiaai “TaaloTausala” Tala-Pola, 87, of Pahoa died Oct. 27, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center.Born in Pavaiai, American Samoa, she was a homemaker and member of Solid Rock Ministries East Hawaii.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31 at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Nov. 1 at the mortuary for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by sons, Setefano (Janice) Uelese-Pola of Seattle, Safune (Nadine) Pola, Tausala (Camlyn) Pola and Stephen (Candice) Pola, all of Hilo; daughters, Seilala Tupuola of Seattle, Talila (Sau) Sau of Australia, Maave (George) Enos of Pahoa and Vaaiga (Philip) Pola-Wilson, both of Pahoa, Tumama (Miki) Pousima of Kona, Taalo (Lionel) Mattoon of Honolulu; sister, Taufao (Harry) Bayliff of Las Vegas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jane Cabilin
Jane Cabilin, 91, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 23, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 12, 1922, in Wailuku, Maui, she was a housewife and member of St. Benedict’s and St. John’s Catholic churches, St. John’s Altar Society.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 1 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau for a 7 p.m. rosary and wake service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Nov. 2 at the church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows in the church’s cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
She is survived by sons, George (Lei) Cabilin of Captain Cook, Charles (Min) Cabilin of Covington, Wash., Martin (Marcia) Cabilin of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Ramona (Raymond) Ciriaco of Captain Cook, Pearl (Lodybesy) Glory of Keopuka Heights, Irene (Bill) Castelline of Iowa, Lita (Ed) Spencer of Waimea, Maura (James) Patao and Brenda (Mike) MacMullen, both of Kailua-Kona; sister, Maxcie Looney of Honolulu; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kunie Payne
Kunie Yokota Payne, 81, of Hilo died Oct. 20, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born March 5, 1932, in Busan, South Korea, she was retired from the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council and member of the Hawaii County Nutrition Program at Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Nov. 1 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by daughter, Michelle (Dyson Arakaki) Payne-Arakaki of Keaau; sister, Kumiko Sadakata of Fukuoka, Japan; one grandson; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Samuel Akaka III
Samuel “Sammy Boy” Akaka III, 51, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 9, 2013, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Jan. 23, 1962, in Honolulu, he was a painter for Machin Painting and Decorating; a musician with Natural High, All G, Generous Thieves and Keleo and member of Pacific Island Fitness and Living Stones Church.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 2 at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor in Kailua-Kona for a service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Linda Breithaupt
Linda Simone Breithaupt, 69, of South Point Road died Oct. 3, 2013, at Ka‘u Hospital. Born Aug. 16, 1944, in Pahala, she was a retired educational assistant for the Department of Education at Ka‘u High School and member of the Naalehu Assembly of God.

Samie Goya
Samie Goya, 91, of Hilo, died Oct. 17, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Center. She was a retired county government employee and member of Hilo Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Buddhist Women’s Association and HGEA retirees.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 2 at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests no monetary gifts. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Hilo or Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

William Hachmeister
William F. Hachmeister, 67, of Hilo died Aug. 15, 2013, at home. Born in Natoma, Kan., he was a computer programmer and Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.

George Kahanahui
George “Kino” Kinoulu Kahanahui, 88, of Kalaoa died Oct. 9, 2013, at his residence. Born April 29, 1925, in North Kona, he was a carpenter foreman for Charles Banco, a foreman for Hawaiian Dredging Co. and a ranch hand for the Huehue Ranch.

Nathan Little
Nathan “Nate” Daniel Little, 39, of Ocean View died Oct. 15, 2013, at his residence. Born February 27, 1974, in Minot, N.D., he was a carpenter.
Service in absence will be held at St. Joseph of Petersburg Orthodox Church in Boring, Ore.
He is survived by wife, Gina Little of Ocean View; daughters, Anna Little, Airial Vega-Little and Thaisia Little, all of Ocean View; parents, Gerald and Marlene Little of Milton, Wash.; brother, Aaron Little of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Naomi (Ray) Brown of Federal Way, Wash., Angel Little of Milton, Wash.; hanai brothers, Austin Koehler and Edwin (Yasmin) Brooks, both of Federal Way, Wash., Lawrence Moore of Tacoma, Wash.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
