Codependent women’s group meets Monday

Co-Dependents Anonymous is a 12-step fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is recovery from codependence and the development and maintenance of healthy relationships. The meeting is from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Unity Church sanctuary, 75-5722 Hanama Place, Kailua-Kona, across from Big Island Grill.

Laughter yoga
session offered Sunday

Joyce Marvel Benoist will present a laughter yoga session at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalists of West Hawaii meeting at the Kona Outdoor Circle, 76-6280 Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona. The session will include laughter practice.

Benoist is a professional life coach and certified mediator based in Honokaa. Laughter yoga is one of the tools she uses to help people cultivate passion for their life purpose, creative problem solving, and balance of mind, body and spirit. Laughter yoga includes self-induced laughter, relaxation techniques and breathing.

Kahilu Theatre screening ‘Rocky Horror’

Kahilu Theatre will present a screening of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” Friday with a costume party and contest starting at 8 p.m. The movie follows at 10 p.m.

Food and drink will be available for purchase. “Rocky Horror” props will also be for sale, however, the audience is invited to bring its own props. There will be prizes for Audience Choice (younger than age 20), Audience Choice (age 20 and older), Most Creative and Best Likeness (to a Rocky Horror character).

The movie is rated R — children younger than 17 will require an accompanying parent or guardian.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at kahilutheatre.org, by calling 885-6868 or at the theater from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday. Children younger than 17 receive free admission.

White Cane Walk is Saturday

The local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind will hold its annual White Cane Walk starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Participants will walk on Alii Drive from Hualalai Road to Hulihee Palace and back. Those with vision loss and supporters are welcome to join in the walk.

‘Sailday’ planned Saturday

The Kona Sailing Club Juniors will host a “Sailday” on Saturday for sailors ages 12 through 18. Cost is $10. Sailors should meet at noon at the Kona Sailing Club at Honokohau Harbor.

The Big Island Sailing Foundation will provide dinghies, a safety/coach boat and sailing vests. Space is limited; submit reservations to bisf@earthlink.net or 325-5529.
