Home Expo features room makeover contest

The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Shame & Showcase contest as part of the ninth annual Building and Design Expo. Homeowners can submit a photo of a “shame” room that needs improvement or a “showcase” room that features a beautiful interior design. Visitors to the Oct. 25 to 27 event at Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay will chose a winner among five finalists in each the shame category and the showcase category. The shame winner will receive a $500 Visa gift card, an interior design consultation with Susan J. Moss, ASID, and will be featured in At Home Magazine. The showcase winner will win a $200 Huggo’s gift certificate and a magazine feature.

Photos may be entered at westhawaiitoday.com through Monday. Online voting to determine the 10 finalists will take place Tuesday through Oct. 20. The winner will be selected at 3 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Building and Design Expo.
