Viola Kanakaole Chung-Hoon Chaffin, 89, of Pahala died July 16, 2013, at her son’s residence. Born June 23, 1924, in Honolulu, she was a senior companion for the county government, a Hospice volunteer, a civilian worker for the Army Air Corps and member of Pahala Seniors Club, Ka‘u Hawaiian Civic Club and Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
