Konawaena gears up for Homecoming

Konawaena High School’s Homecoming event, “Born to be a Wildcat,” is slated for Friday at Julian Yates Field. The junior varsity football game against the Hilo Vikings begins at 5 p.m. Festivities following the JV game include a Homecoming parade featuring the Class of 1981. The parade will also include the 2013 Homecoming court, the Kona Marlins Football Club and grade level classes. The varsity game against Hilo will begin at 7 p.m. Senior night will honor the senior football players.

In addition, a special presentation of the Wall of Fame inductee, Koji Ariyoshi from the class of 1931 will be held at halftime of the varsity game.

All Konawaena alumni classes are encouraged to participate in the Fight for Hunger Food Drive Challenge. The class that brings in the most food items will have its year engraved on the Spirit Spear.
