“ENNS — Finding Paradise, Puako Big Island of Hawaii,” showcases the work of artist Christian Enns, who will be in attendance.
Wine and pupu will be served; Travis Wittmeyer will perform. A painting will be offered as a door prize and 2 percent of art sales will benefit the American Cancer Society.
“I have created a show of art representing my experience in Puako,” said Enns, who lives in the coastal community.
His art depicts Puako’s landscapes and structures such as the Holukoa Church, The General Store, ramshackle buildings and sprawling beaches.
“It’s a story of light and appreciation for the natural beauty of the environment here on the Big Island,” he said.
Enns creates contemporary oil paintings and resin on panels, ranging in size from 9-by-12 to 48-by-74 inches.
In addition to “ENNS”-branded artwork, the show debuts a video release, “ENNS — Paints Hawaii,” by Al Ronzio and Janet Fisher, which offers an intimate look into the life and style of the artist.
Enns said the Puako paintings are a moment captured in time.
“The purity of simple shacks and calm, empty beaches offers a window into the past,” he added. “It’s a reflection on what was, and at the same time, focuses our attention on the current beauty of Puako.”
