Jennie Sakoda
Jennie Toda Sakoda, 92, of Hilo died Sept. 17, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born May 8, 1921, in Honolulu, she a was retired clerk for the state Highways Division Department of Transportation.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary offerings.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Dennis) Suga of Hilo, Faith (Brian) Tokeshi of Wailuku, Maui; brother, Seichi (Doris) Toda of Honolulu; sister, Ruth Yamane of Kauai; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Masuko Shibata
Masuko T. Shibata, 97, of Pepeekeo died Sept. 4, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born March 29, 1916, in Hilo, she was a retired practical nurse from Hilo Memorial Hospital and member of the Wainaku Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Keay (Raynette) Shibata of Hilo, Owen (Celia) Shibata of Kahului, Maui, Roy Shibata of Pepeekeo; brothers, Kikuo (Ethel) Tsue of Hilo, Stanley (Arlene) Tsue of Honolulu; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene Saito
Gene “Geno” Kiyoshi Saito, 60, of Waikoloa died Sept. 19, 2013, at his residence. He was a landscaper.

Harold Tanouye Jr.
Harold Tadashi Tanouye Jr., 78, of Hilo died Sept. 23, 2013, at his home. Born June 21, 1935, in Hilo, he was the CEO, chairman of the board and founder of Green Point Nurseries, Inc. He was also a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, the dean’s advisory board for University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, Wholesale Florists and Florist Suppliers of America, Society of American Florists, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii, Hilo Y’s Men, and Aloha Golf Club.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 28, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 440 W. Lanikaula St., for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Lillian Tanouye of Hilo; sons, Eric (Lolita) Tanouye of Hilo, Alan (Maridelba) Tanouye of South Carolina; daughters, Robin (Kyle) Nakayama of Hilo, Heather Tanouye of Kailua-Kona; stepson, Carl Nagatori of Waipahu, Oahu; stepdaughter, Melanie Nagatori of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Raymond (Mifune) Tanouye, Kenneth (Lois Jean) Tanouye, both of Hilo; sisters, Kay (Dan) Sakai of Hilo, Lei Tanouye of Honolulu; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Hideko Kagimoto, 93, of Honolulu died Sept. 13, 2013, at a private care home on Oahu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired registered nurse at the former Hilo Hospital and a member of Church of the Holy Cross.

Aileen Rabang
Aileen Launico Rabang, 44, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 19, 2013. Born Aug. 27, 1969, in the Philippines, she was a certified nurse’s aide and a homemaker.
