Reginald Yamano

Reginald “Reggie” Hideo Yamano, 62, of Bishop, Texas, and formerly of Pahala died Sept. 17, 2013, in Texas. Born in Pahala, he was an aircraft mechanic for NAS-Kingsville in Texas and a Navy veteran.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by daughter, Mika Womack of Riviera, Texas; mother, Miharu Yamano of Hilo; brothers, Terrence Yamano of Kona, Wendell Yamano of Hilo; sister, Corrine Yamano of Hilo; two nephews; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Helen Garcia

Helen Cabasal Garcia, 73, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 31, 2013, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Feb. 4, 1940, in Isabela, Philippines, she was an associate at Walmart in Kailua-Kona.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by husband, Jose Garcia Sr. of Kailua-Kona; sons, Joel (Louisa) Garcia and Jose (Haidi) Garcia Jr., both of the Philippines, Jerry Garcia of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Loren (Abdon) De La Cruz of Miami, Fla., Miriam Galang and Marie Jean Labayane, both of the Philippines; brothers, Dominador (Belen) Cabasal and Lope (Panching) Cabasal, both of the Philippines, Manolo (Mary) Cabasal of Abilene, Texas; sisters, Nellie Malana and Roseann (Fratz) Gaffud, both of the Philippines, Virginia (Jacques) Gervis of Rhode Island; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

John Ruggiero

John Richard Ruggiero, 76, of Hilo, died Sept. 1, 2013, at his residence. Born March 7, 1937, in Boston, he was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Servic; member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion; and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

Hugh Willocks

Hugh Hazard Willocks, 72, of Hilo died Sept. 4, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 15, 1941, in Hilo, he was chairman of the board of Willocks Construction Corp., a Vietnam War Army veteran, former president and lifetime member of the Hawaii Island Contractors Association and a member of the National Rifle Association and the Republican Party.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Hilo Yacht Club. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

He is survived by daughters, Kehu (Duke) Huihui of Keaau, Mamo (Felix) Pada of Honolulu; sons, Sam Willocks and Michael Willocks, both of California, Paul (Lindsay) Willocks of Washington; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one nephew; one niece.

Carol Silva

Carol Ann Silva, 63, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 21, 2013, at her residence. Born April 12, 1950, in Kealakekua, she was a retired secretary for the Department of Human Services.

Everett Adams

Everett Alfred Adams, 83, of Hilo died Aug. 8, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 2, 1930, in San Francisco, he was a retired salesman for 3M Co., Hawaii and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by wife, MaryLou Adams of Hilo; daughter, Deborah Mann of Hilo; son, James (Victoria) Adams of Honolulu; sisters, Joyce (Tom) Alden of California, Beverly (John) Amadi of Boston; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Dorothy Gambsky

Dorothy Gambsky, 86, of Volcano died Aug. 15, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 27, 1927, in Mountain View, she was a homemaker and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Joseph (Barbara) Gambsky and Demetri Gambsky, both of Volcano; sisters, Olivia Martin of Hilo, Ann Murphy of Chicago; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted Tanimoto

Ted Satomi Tanimoto, 88, of Hilo died July 25, 2013, at his residence. Born in Papaaloa, he was a retired electrician, member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Laupahoehoe High School Class of 1943, Big Island Beekeepers Association, Kapualani Kumiai and a life time member of IBEW.

Private services were held.

He is survived by sisters, Betty (Asamitsu) Hiromura and Myrtle (George) Nakasato, both of Honolulu; caregiver, Kanani Alfiche of Mountain View; numerous nieces and nephews.
