William Loeffler Jr.

William Loeffler Jr.

William “Bud” Sherwood Loeffler Jr., 82, of Hilo died Aug. 14, 2013 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired police officer and former liquor inspector for Hawaii County and a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

He is survived by sons, William (Carolyn) Loeffler, of Hilo, Lee (Shirley) Loeffler, of Hilo, Daniel (Jennifer) Loeffler, of Hilo; daughter, Kathi (John) Turner, of Maple Valley, Wash.; sisters, Leatrice Mahuna, of South Point, Edna Mendonca, of Kohala; brother, Kenneth Loeffler, of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Thang Nguyen

Thang Quoc Nguyen, 57, of Pepeekeo, died Aug. 8, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 17, 1955, in Vietnam, he was a ginger and potato farmer.

No service times were provided.

He is survived by wife, Thuy Nguyen, of Pepeekeo; daughter, Thu Nguyen, of Texas; sons, Dung Nguyen, of Hawaii, Tuong Nguyen, of Hawaii, Tuan Nguyen, of Texas and Trieu Nguyen, of Vietnam.

Joseph Kamoku Jr.

Joseph “Tut” Keheana Kamoku Jr., 57, of Kailua-Kona died July 22, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 17, 1955, in Kealakekua, he was a musical entertainer with Aloha Aina.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. Sept. 1 at Kahaluu Beach Park’s large pavilion for a celebration of his life. The family requests casual attire be worn. Loose flowers are welcome.

He is survived by companion, Joannavi Medeiros, of Kailua-Kona; sister, Gwen (Jim) Garber, of Kailua-Kona; brother, Paul Kamoku, of Kailua-Kona; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chiso Tatsutani

Chiso Tatsutani, 72, of Pepeekeo, died at Hilo Medical Center Aug. 2, 2013. Born in Hakalau, he was a retired carpenter with L.M. Builders.

Private services were held. The family requests monetary donations be omitted.

He is survived by brother, Lionel (Elaine) Tatsutani, of Kona; sisters, Jane (Satoshi) Ota, of Hilo, Jean Tatsutani, of Honolulu; stepson, Phillip Johnson, of Texas; stepdaughters, Sue Johnson, of Oregon, Lynn (Jon) Bozek, of Mississippi, Elaine Brinkman, of Oregon, Linda Johnson, of Oregon, Rebecca (James) Trump, of Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews.
