Larry Kimbell
Larry Kris Kimbell, 55, of Mountain View died Aug. 13, 2013, at his residence. Born in New Haven, Conn., he was a musician.
A celebration of his life will be held Aug. 25.
He is survived by mother, Pamela Kimbell of Puako; grandmother, Elaine McDavid of Texas; brothers, Mark Kimbell of Kapaau, Richard Kimbell of San Francisco, Charles Kimbell and David Kimbell both of San Diego, California; sister, Sherri Kimbell of San Francisco; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Leilehua Galvez
Leilehua Vivencia Racelis Galvez, 90, of Waikoloa, died Aug. 21, 2013, at her residence. Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Waialua, Oahu, she was a homemaker, retired secretary for the government and the Department of Education in Guam, and member of Wesley United Methodist Church and choir, Waikoloa Community Church, and WARD’S (Women’s Air Raid Defense).
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 at Waikoloa Community Church for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire to be worn and flowers be omitted.
She is survived by daughters, Debra (Charles) Morrison of Phoenix, Diane (John) Bobek of Waikoloa; sons, David (Lolita) Galvez of Honolulu, Dani (Eunice) Galvez of Las Vegas; hanai daughter, Michiko Tarumi of Japan; brothers, Pedro (Rose) Racelis, Jr., of Kailua-Kona, Ben (Susan) Racelis of Texas; sister, Aloha (Raymond) Carvalho of Honolulu; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Calvin Kaya
Calvin Atsushi Kaya, 68, of Hilo died Aug. 14, 2013 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born May 15, 1945, in Pepeekeo, he was a retired baker for Kalanianaole School, U.S. Army veteran, and member of Heritage Christian Fellowship.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Aug. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Melinda Olival
Melinda Lou Olival, 82, of Hilo died August 20, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan. 13, 1931, in Hilo, she was retired from Queen’s Medical Center and a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 27, at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, James Silva Jr., Clarence Silva, both of Honolulu; daughter, Carol Ann (Mariano) Sales of Hilo; brothers, Robert Germano of Honolulu, Harold (Margie) Germano of Hilo; sisters, Ethel (Tom) Banley of Kansas, Marie Kittrell of Massachusetts; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Clarence Ono
Clarence Joji Ono, 78, of Hilo died July 30, 2013, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Feb. 16, 1935, in Honolulu, he was an aeronautical engineer for Rocketdyne and proprietor of Kona Orchids.
Private services were held. The family requests no koden.
He is survived by sisters, Sylvia Harada, Florence (Richard) Nishii-Ekimoto and Barbara Sasaki, all of Honolulu, and Majorie (Yoshio) Watanabe of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.
Fukuyo Hata
Fukuyo “Fuku” Hata, 80, of Hilo, died Aug. 11, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Oct. 4, 1932, in Ka‘u, she was a retired Hilo Hospital nurse and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission, Kapualani Kumiai, Hilo Hospital Retirees, HGEA Retirees, and Queen’s Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Aug. 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no monetary gifts.

Elsie Bredo
Elsie Mary Bredo, 83, of Waikoloa, Hawaii died Aug. 16, 2013. Born March 25, 1930, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, she was as a teacher’s aide and PSAP in elementary education and member of Kilohana United Methodist Church in Niu Valley, Oahu.

She is survived by son, John (Barbara) Bredo of Edmonton, Alberta; daughter, Susan Bredo of Waikoloa; brother, John (Elsie) Hrynchuk of Kelowna, British Columbia; sisters, Doreen (Barry) Lohmon of Parksville, British Columbia, and Marie (Mike) Sumner of Regina, Saskatchewan; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Masuki Imai
Masuki “Billy” Imai, 96, of Honokaa died Aug. 6, 2013, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Haina, he was a retired supervisor for the former Honokaa Sugar Co. and member of Honokaa Hongwanji Mission.

He is survived by daughter, Karen (Stacey) Takaki of Honokaa; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Martin Carvalho
Martin Carvalho, 65, of Kealakekua died Aug. 18, 2013, at his residence. Born Sept. 19, 1947, in Kohala, he was a carpenter, coffee farmer and construction laborer.
