Lester “Les” Kinji Nakano, 64, of Holualoa died Aug. 13, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 5, 1949, in Keauhou, he was a retired First Hawaiian Bank teller and waiter at the former Kona Hilton Hotel.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Kona Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo for a 3 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire and flowers be omitted.
He is survived by sons, Nick (Aurora) Nakano of Phoenix and Tony (Sheena) Nakano of Holualoa; mother, Asayo Nakano of Captain Cook; brothers, Richard (Karen) Nakano of Kailua-Kona, Dennis (Molly) Nakano of Kealakekua and Kenneth (Alma) Nakano of Pukalani, Maui; sister, Anne Nakano of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ethel Mililani Kaikuaana, 73, of Hilo died July 29, 2013, at the Pohai Malama. Born Nov. 26, 1939, in Hilo, she was an employee of Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut and member of Glad Tidings Church and HIAC.

She is survived by son, Clyde (Lisa) Kaikuaana of Madison, Wisc.; daughters, Wanda (Paul) Neves and Jasmine Kaikuaana, both of Hilo; sister, Pearl Wong of Hilo; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence B. Denis, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 15, 2013. Born in California, he was a retired supervisor for the City and County of Honolulu’s water supply company and member of Young Men’s Institute.

He is survived by wife, Agnes Denis of Hilo; son Lawrence (Carol) Denis Jr. of Hilo; daughter Cynthia Pregana of Hilo; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Angelina “Kay” Acoba, 94, of Hilo, formerly of Pepeekeo, died Aug. 13, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 27, 1919, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired clerk for the former Pay Less Department Store in Hilo, a seamstrees and member of the Pepeekeo Filipino Association and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
