Rose Bergeron

Rose Bergeron

Rose Marie Bergeron 90, of Kailua-Kona died June 19, 2013, at her residence. Born Dec. 13, 1922, in Dorchester County, Quebec, Canada, she later worked in Maine as a shoe maker and later owned the “3-D” and the “Roseland” restaurants/dance clubs in Maine. She was a member of the Kailua-Kona Seniors.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 17 at Keauhou Canoe Club for a celebration of life.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Contemprato of Kailua-Kona, Lisa Chasse of Lisbon, Maine; numerous brothers and sisters; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

Naomi Noeau

Naomi Kealoha Noeau, 76, of Kawaihae died July 25, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1936, in Kapaa, Kauai, she was a retired pastry chef for King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel and Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows and member of ILWU Local 142.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Aug. 25 at Puuhonua O Honaunau picnic area. Family requests casual attire be worn. Beach wear and swimming gear optional. For information, call 217-6051.

She is survived by sons, Miki Noeau Jr. of Makuu, Owl (Charlie Ann) Noeau of Keaukaha, Brian (Judy) Noeau of Las Vegas; daughters, Debbie (Garrick) Low of Kailua-Kona, Gail (Fierry Pung) Noeau of Keaau; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray Nakamura

Ray Kiyoshi Nakamura, 78, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died July 13, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Feb. 23, 1935, in Kukuihaele, he was a retired master carpet layer, and U.S. Army and Hawaii National Guard veteran.

Private services were held, with his cremated remains interred at the Honokaa Hongwanji Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in his memory.

He is survived by caretaker, Zita Gomes of Keaau; brothers, James Nakamura of Aiea, Paul Nakamura of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Betty Miyashiro of Honomu.

Tatsue Takasaki

Tatsue Inomoto Takasaki, 89, of Aiea, formerly of Umauma, Hakalau, died July 20, 2013. Born in Kaikea, he was an orchid farm owner, former post office worker and member of Honohina Hongwanji Mission.

Private services were held. The family requests no monetary donations.

She is survived by sons, Gerald (Denise) Takasaki of Sterling Heights, Mich., Ken (Alyson) Takasaki of San Diego, Calif., Ted (Lori) Takasaki of Aiea; brother, Satoru Inomoto of Tustin, Calif.; four grandchildren.

Dorothy Garcia

Dorothy Riggins Garcia, 93, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 2, 2013. Born June 25, 1920, in Hampton, Iowa, she was a World War II veteran and homemaker.

No services are planned.

She is survived by husband, Leandro Garcia; daughter, Kim Garcia; grandchildren; great grandchildren.

Jessie Provost

Jessie Provost, 63, of Honokaa died June 30, 2013, at her home. Born in Pittsburgh, she was retired from the construction industry.

Private services are planned. Donations in her memory may be made to North Hawaii Hospice or Honokaa Public Library.

She is survived by partner, Mary Mich of Honokaa; sister, Bonnie Provost of Pittsburgh; numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret Misayo Fujimoto, 84, of Honokaa died July 28, 2013, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Oct. 8, 1928, in Kapaau, she was retired from the former Honokaa Hospital.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Beverly (John) Yamamoto of Hilo, Sharyl (Pat) Tranilla of Pearl City, Oahu; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane Nakasone

Jane Yukie Nakasone, 91, of Volcano died July 25, 2013, at a private care home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters, Cindy Shafer of California, Lei (Karl) Taft of Volcano; son, Guy Nakasone of Honolulu; sisters, Mae Onishi of Honolulu, Jessie (David) Arakaki of Honolulu; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Misue Sakae

Misue Sakae, 90, of Hilo died July 13, 2013, at a care home. Born in Papaikou, she was a member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission and Kurtistown Jodo Mission.

She is survived by son, Kenneth (Lillian) Sakae of Kurtistown; daughter, Jean (Wilfred) Kuroyama of Hilo; brothers, Carl Obasa and Yoshio (Marcia) Obasa, both of Kurtistown; sisters, Sueko Saito of Honolulu, Sumie Yamanishi of Japan, Sue Kojima, Yoshie (Abel) Wakida and Masue (James) Yogi, all of Hilo; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Patrick Yamura

Patrick “Pat” Sueo Yamura, 42, of Hawi, died July 5, 2013, at Kohala Hospital. Born Aug. 13, 1970, in Honolulu, he was a lead service agent for Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, a former key attendant for Hilton Waikoloa Village and a cook for the former Kohala Inn Restaurant.

A private service will be held.

He is survived by wife, Luana Yamura; daughter, Keiko Yamura; son, Gabby Yamura, all of Hawi; stepdaughters, Liana Hayes of Hilo, Leysha Stanley of Hawi; mother, Edwina Yamura of Halaula; brothers, Rodney Yamura of Halaula, Randy (Lisa) Yamura of Honolulu; sister, Colleen (Brannon) Coito of Hawi; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack Hiroki Sakamoto, 85, of Hilo died June 21, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born March 10, 1928, in Hilo, he was a retired bridge maintenance inspector from the state Department of Transportation Highways Division.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by sons, Rian (Millicent) Sakamoto and Michael Sakamoto, both of Hilo; daughter, Joan Sakamoto of Baltimore; sister, Pearl Tanemura of Hilo; an uncle; aunts and cousins.
