Meetings are being held on Hawaii Island, Oahu and Kauai to solicit ideas on the best way to provide notifications.

Marine Corps Base Hawaii is developing a notification system to inform the public about U.S. Marine Corps actions in the State of Hawaii that could potentially affect historic properties. Meetings are being held on Hawaii Island, Oahu and Kauai to solicit ideas on the best way to provide notifications.

The West Hawaii meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School cafeteria.

Ukulele, hula
classes offered

Beginning and intermediate ukulele and hula classes will be offered starting this week in Kailua-Kona.

Roselle Fujihara will teach beginning ukulele from 4 to 5 p.m. and intermediate ukulele from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. The classes consist of 10 sessions and are held behind Hale Halawai. Cost is $50.

Song sheets will be provided. Participants must bring their own ukulele, binder with plastic sheet protectors, and a pen or pencil. A minimum participant count is needed for both classes.

Fujihara will teach hula from 4 to 5 p.m. and intermediate hula from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays. The classes consist of 10 sessions and are held behind Hale Halawai. Cost is $50.

Gerontologist
speaking at
seniors meeting

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hale Halawai. Gerontologist Laura Guluzzi will deliver a special presentation on communicating aging for all. Questions and answers will follow. For further information, call Bev at 325-6993 or Claire at 756-5352.
