Kyle K. Jones, a 2013 graduate of Konawaena High School, was recently selected by CIEE, a leader in international education and exchange, as one of 50 high school students across the country to study in South Korea during summer break.

As a CIEE South Korea Scholar, Jones will spend Aug. 5 through 18 at Yonsei University in Seoul. Jones will attend academic lectures, go on cultural tours, and participate in excursions to historically and culturally important areas of the country. Each activity, including introductory language classes, a trip to the Demilitarized Zone, and a homestay, is designed to immerse students in South Korea’s unique culture, customs, language and people.

The CIEE South Korea Scholarship program is made possible through CIEE’s partnership with the Korea Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at promoting awareness and understanding of Korea throughout the international community and enhancing goodwill and friendship through the implementation of various international exchange programs.
