Three state trails remained closed this morning, Department of Land and Natural Resources officials said.

The Ainapo trail and cabin, Pololu Valley trail and Waimanu trail will remain closed until further notice. DLNR officials said some of the still-closed areas are in remote locations and will take longer to evaluate and assess conditions following Monday’s tropical storm.

DLNR opened several other Big Island parks, including Hapuna Beach State Recreational Area, Kiholo State Park Reserve, Kekaha Kai State Park, Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and Lapakahi State Historical Park.
