Toralyn Mospens
Toralyn Marie Mospens, 63, of Keaau, died July 14, 2013, at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she retired as a nurse.
Funeral services will be held at noon July 29 at Hilo Veterans Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her daughter Carrie Mospens of Mountain View; son Paul Mospens of Ewa Beach, Oahu; sister Jerylee Cline of New York; brother Robert Jahke of Utah; hanai children Jeff, Bryan and Pinky; two grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

John Joyce
John M. Joyce, 79, of Keaau died July 1, 2013, at his residence with family at his side. Born in Bayonne, N.J., he served honorably in the Merchant Marines, U.S. Marines, Air Force and Army. He was also a Korean War veteran, journeyman carpenter and painter.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, where a celebration of his life begins at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Rosita Joyce of Keaau; sons, Glenn Sambueno of Hilo, Michael Joyce of Hilo, James (Michelle) Joyce of Hilo; daughters, Barbara Alcos of Oahu, Theresa (Chet) Kamakawiwaole of Hilo, Debra (George) Evangelista of Hilo, Darlene (Louie) Linares of Oahu, Robin (Art) Sensano of Hilo, Crystal Kunishige of Las Vegas; 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Harry Ikeda
Harry Tadashi Ikeda, 61, Honolulu, died July 6, 2013. Born Oct. 19, 1951, in Hilo, he was a delivery driver.
Friends may call for 10 a.m. visitation at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Oahu, to be followed by 11 a.m. services. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by Lynn Naomi Ikeda, Duane Ikeda, Cindy Kawamura, Roy Ikeda, Earl Ikeda, Cleo Nham, Herbert Tadao Ikeda and two grandchildren.

Grebelen Baybayan
Grebelen Baybayan, 46, of Keaau died July 6, 2013, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Keaau, she was a food service worker for McDonald’s in Puainako.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home on Kinoole Street in Hilo, with a memorial service following at 11 a.m.
She is survived by mother, Virgina Regatcho of Keaau; brothers, Gregorio (Melissa) Baybayan of Kona, Gilford (Renee Lecht) Baybayan of Washington, Kevin (Jennifer) Nakano of Keaau; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Andres Cabel Jr.
Andres M. “Kobie” Cabel Jr., 53, of Honolulu, formerly of Hilo, died April 29, 2013. He was born in Hilo.
Friends may call for a visitation at 9 a.m Aug. 3 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Papaikou, where a Mass at 10 a.m. will follow. The family requests aloha attire be worn and no flowers. A private scattering of ashes will be held at a later date.
He is survived by mother Rosalina and stepfather Donald Bocok of Mililani, Oahu; companion, Sandy McKendree of Honolulu; sister, Beverly Cabel of Aiea; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Tanya Alma Louise Kapika Castro, 58, of Keaau died July 16, 2013, at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired accountant.

Harold Looney, 87, of Mililani died July 4, 2013, in Straub Hospital. Born in Decaturville, Mo., he retired from Pan American World Airways.
Friends may call Aug. 3 at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church in Captain Cook, where visitation will take place at 9 a.m. and Mass begins at 10 a.m. Internment will follow. The family requests casual aloha attire be worn.

Mary Mitsue Nakashima, 82, of Hilo died June 28, 2013, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kurtistown, she retired as a homemaker.
Memorial services will be held Aug. 3 at New Hope Hilo, where visitation begins at 10 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m.
She is survived by sons, Mark Nakashima of California, Aaron (Darlene) Nakashima of Honolulu; daughter, Mari Kotake of Hilo; brother, Dan Hata of Kurtistown; sisters, Alice (Phillip) Spencer of Honolulu, Seiko Grote of Kona; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ronald “Blue” Joseph Smith Sr., 64, of Kailua-Kona died July 18, 2013, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 11, 1948, in New Orleans, he was a taxi driver for J&L Taxi, rental representative for Hertz, Avis and Budget Rent A Car companies, driver for Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council and Roberts Hawaii, security officer for Securitas, Loomis and Wackenhut, and counter server at McDonald’s, Domino’s Pizza and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. Aug. 3 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 74-574 Honokohau St. in the Honokohau Industrial Park, for a 10 a.m. funeral service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

Suzan Stephanie Whallon Serbu, 53, of Kailua-Kona died July 16, 2013, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Sept. 16, 1959, in Wilmington, Del., she was a homemaker, teacher and Amazing Grace Ministries member.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Amazing Grace Ministries, located at the north end of the Old Kona Airport Park. The memorial service will begin at 10:15 a.m.
She is survived by husband, Denis Serbu of Kailua-Kona; sons, Aron Wolkind, Jesse Whallon, both of Delaware, Collie Townsend of Molokai; daughter, Poni Lea Townsend of Texas; sisters, Kit Whallon, Betsy Whallon; brothers, Chris Whallon of Delaware, Tim Whallon of California; numerous nieces and nephews.

Andrea Rollman
Andrea Marie Rollman, 65, of Waikoloa died July 14, 2013. Born July 10, 1948, in Nanticoke, Pa., she was a teacher for 30 years in New Jersey before coming in 2001 to Hawaii, where she worked at the Kealakehe Elementary School for four years.
She was also a captain in Civil Air Patrol’s Kona Composite Squadron, a member of the Waikoloa CERT team, and the New Jersey Education Association.
The family has planned private services, followed by a public service at noon Aug. 7 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Kona Composite Squadron, Cadet Programs, P.O. Box 2427, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.
She is survived by spouse, Paul Rollman Jr. of Waikoloa; son, Paul (Erin) Rollman III of Barnegat, N.J.; brother, Dr. Francis (Megan) Marchlinski of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

John Lawrence Perreira, 68, of Honokaa died July 5, 2013, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Haina, he was a retired assistant superintendent for the Hawaii Electric Light Co., a cattle rancher and a member of the Rock Island Riders ATV Club.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Juliet Marie Perreira of Honokaa; daughter, Johnalyn (Wesley) Margheim of Colorado; son, Jonathan (Katie Carvalho) Perreira of Ninole; brothers, Manuel (Pat) Perreira of California, Dan (Dora) Perreira of Waimea; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
