Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii will host a community work day to beautify the Lako Street entrance of the Old Walua Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Scenic Route from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Teams of five are needed to plant trees, install signs and dog waste bag dispensers, lay gravel, paint gates and remove weeds and graffiti. To form a team, contact Tina Clothier at 561-9212 or tina@pathhawaii.org.

After the work concludes, the trail will be rededicated and blessed, to honor the memory of Toni Fortin Blair, who led the effort to establish the path in 1995. To sponsor gravel, paint brushes, paint pans or refreshments, contact Stefanie Gubser at 326-7284 or stefanie@pathhawaii.org.
