It was the final game in a six-game series against the Admirals in Vallejo, Calif.
The Stars (15-21) return to Hilo and will host the league-leading San Rafael Pacifics (24-8) in a four-game Pacific Association of Professional Baseball series, starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Wong Stadium.
Davis went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer in the second inning and a three-run homer in the sixth to spark Hawaii’s victory. Teammate Katsuaki Furuki added two hits and had two RBIs for the Stars, who had 10 hits in the contest against four Vallejo pitchers.
Jordan English, Justin James and Quaid McKinnon had three hits apiece for the Admirals, who hammered four Hawaii hurlers for 16 hits.
Matt Stropoli started for the Stars and was the first of four Hawaii pitchers. He went three innings, allowing nine hits and five runs. Mike Jackson followed, throwing two innings and giving up five hits and two runs. Brian Escanio (1-1) took over in the sixth and picked up the win. He hurled 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit while walking two and striking out one.
Tony York came on to earn a save, tossing the final 1 2/3 scoreless innings. He gave up a hit to go along with a walk and a strikeout.
Vallejo reliever Nicholas Flory (0-2) took the loss. He allowed two hits and three runs during his 1 2/3 innings on the mound.
