Reiko (Kanda) Nakaoka, 88, of Hilo died June 27, 2013, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Hilo, she was a retired saleswoman for the American Family Life Assurance Co.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. July 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a noon service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Lynn Brune of Cary, Ill., Pam (Alton) Kajikawa of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Takayoshi Kanda of Hilo, Tokuo (Sawako) Kanda of Japan, Eiichi (Sue) Kanda of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sisters, Carole Funada of Hilo, Jean (Silvester) Kaulia of Kaimuki, Oahu, Miriam (Allan) Buck of Lakewood, Calif.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
