Oren Don Kalei Hoopai Sr., 56, of Mountain View died June 7, 2013, at the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he was an employee of the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. June 29 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. June 30 at the mortuary for a 10 a.m. service followed by cremation. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by 2ife, Doreen Hoopai of Mountain View; sons, Kalei (Bonnie) Hoopai of California, Teddy (Mealii) Hoopai of Hilo; daughters, Tammy (Richard Kepa) Miles of Kihei, Maui, Terry (Keola) Yasso of Kaunakakai, Molokai, Tracy (Anthony) Garcia and Cynthia Hoopai, both of Hilo; brothers, Dennis Hoopai of Kihei, Maui, Danny (Valerie) Hoopai of Lahaina, Maui, Felton (Shirley) Hoopai of Maui; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
