Francisco “Pedring” “Frank” Q. Camero, 92 of Pepeekeo died June 11, 2013, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Jan. 5, 1921, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired journeyman automotive and diesel mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. co-owner of AC (Antonio and Camero) Service Station in the old Pepeekeo Mill Camp, member of the Pepeekeo Senior Citizen and Pepeekeo Filipino Association and a Eucharistic minister and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. June 23 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. June 24 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Margarita Camero of Pepeekeo; sons, Jamie (Claire) Camero of Pepeekeo, Rudy (Bernie) Camero of Hilo, Franklin (Nancy) Camero of Las Vegas, John (Chris Gomera) Camero of Mountain View; daughters, Elizabeth Antida of San Mateo, Calif., Judy (Howard) Shimabukuro of Hilo; sister, Petra Cabatu of Pepeekeo; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
