Emil “Kapio” Kapioanuenue Spencer, 59, of Pahoehoe died May 26, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 16, 1954, in Kealakekua, he formerly worked with Glover Construction as a heavy equipment operator, was a supervisor for Kona Coffee Co-op, a state Highway Division worker, a records clerk for Hawaii County Police and a rancher for McCandles Ranch.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 29 at Pukaana Congregational Church for a 10:30 a.m. service. For more information, call 747-0410.

He is survived by wife, Noreen Spencer of Pahoehoe; sons, Emil (Morgan) Spencer III of Ocean View, Aukake (Marion Salvador) Spencer of Keauhou; daughters, Nalani Spencer of Pahoehoe, Kainoa (Melvin Palea Jr.) Haalilio of Honaunau; hanai daughters, Sheila-ann (Hansel) Baniaga of Opihihaele, Aloha Reeves of Napoopoo, Linda (Carlos) Zuniga of Captain Cook; hanai sons, Randall (Char) Pule Sr. and Rudy Haalilio, both of Honaunau, Bradley Ahia of Pahoehoe; sister, Blossom Sapp of San Diego; brother, Jewett (Regina) Spencer of Kealakekua; hanai brothers, William (Gabriel) Lucas of Ocean View, Cornel (Laura) Carlos of Honomalino Mauka; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
