Mauna Kea Soil and Water Conservation District meets from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Natural Resources Conservation Service’s center, 67-1185 Mamalahoa Highway, Suite, 148, Waimea.

Kaiser Permanente lists June events

Child passenger safety technicians certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will check child car and booster seats at no cost between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Waimea Women Infants and Children Clinic, 67-5189 Kumamalu St. Kaiser Permanente will give away bike helmets to children getting their car and booster seats checked at the event; sizes and quantities are limited. Appointments must be booked in advance by calling 933-4587.

The free Diabetes Support group led by Vivienne Aronowitz meets at 11:30 a.m. June 24 at Kaiser Permanente’s Kona Clinic. Topics for discussion will include mind and body, fitness and nutrition for those with diabetes. Advance registration is required; call 334-4400.

Brain injury group meets Wednesday

The Brain Injury Support group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hawaiian Rehab Services clinic. David Chen will speak about his caregiver experiences with his wife, Theresa Wang, following her traumatic brain injury.
