Aloha Performing Arts Company has finalized the cast for its production of “Aladdin Jr.,” a stage adaptation of the Disney film. Filled with magic, mayhem and flying carpet rides, the show boasts a cast of 40 actors ranging in age from 7 to 18.
Aloha Performing Arts Company has finalized the cast for its production of “Aladdin Jr.,” a stage adaptation of the Disney film. Filled with magic, mayhem and flying carpet rides, the show boasts a cast of 40 actors ranging in age from 7 to 18.
Newcomers include Isaiah Hooper as the title character, Tiger Lily Hurd as Jasmine, Josiah Clark as Jafar and Oliver Hai-Kelly as Iago. Returning to the Aloha stage are Alec Lugo as the Genie, Mahina Farmer as the Magic Carpet, John Hulen as Razoul and Zachary Kaneshiro as the Sultan. The story is woven together by narrators Nora Frank, Bowen Ressler, Ariana Kaneshiro, Kristina Todorov and Sarah Rouse.
Rounding out the cast as townspeople, princes and guards are Tia Amafala, Brooke Aragon, Noe Balanay, Heather Bartlett, Eva Bates, Cheyenne Begay, Hope Boyd, Kai Bram, Maddy Bram, Kristen Cole-Porter, Eloisa DeFarias, Megan Durkin, Chantel Espiritu, Rihanna Goodspeed, Jaiden Hadjes, Lindsey Hai-Kelly, Alicia Hicks, Logan Hurd, Hanna Hurd, Angelina Jones, Hannah Kimmel, Zea Levine, Jamie Saito, Justyn Toyama, Madison Vetter and Mako Yamamoto.
“Aladdin Jr.” is directed by Sue Boyum and produced by Christy Aragon, with choreography by Nora Frank, costuming by Renee Monell, lighting design by April Mai and set design by Hadley Catalano. Performances are slated at 7:30 p.m. June 21, 22, 27 and 28; and at 2:30 p.m. June 23 and 30. Adult admission is $12; seniors and young adults $10; and children $5.
