James “Longie” K. Kupahu Sr., 73, of Nanawale Estates died March 9, 2013, at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the City and County of Honolulu.

Friend may call at 11 a.m. June 8 at Waimanalo Beach Park, Oahu; scattering of his ashes to follow; lunch to follow scattering. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Gwendolyn (Makaila) Kupahu; daughters, Jaime (Gary) Kahalepo, Darrlyn (Richard) Kupahu-Canon, Lloydette Teanio, Malie Kupahu; sons, James Kupahu Jr., Michael (Hanalei) Kupahu, Nakuluai Maave-Kupahu, Lloyd Teanio; sisters, Jacqueline Kalima, Leihalaopuna (Jerry) Vigneaux, Lana (Danny) Johnson; brother, Manuel Kupahu Jr.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
