Koichi Fukuda

Koichi Fukuda, 88, of Hilo died May 19, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born March 31, 1925, in Hilo, he was retired from the state Department of Taxation’s Hilo office, a World War II Military Intelligence Service Army veteran and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission and Kaumana Terrace Community Association.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by daughter, Renee (Glenn) Honda of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; sisters, Shizue (Akira) Nakano of Oshima, Japan, Tomoyo Kondo and Mitsuko Muranaka, both of Hilo; a grandchild; a stepgreat-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
