John Edward Parker, 75, of Hilo died May 20, 2013, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Chicago, he was a retired software designer and jazz musician and bass player for various bands in Hilo.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. May 25 the Hilo Town Tavern for a memorial gathering. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Judith Zeichner of Hilo; daughter, Laura (Rick Rataj) Parker of Redding, Calif.; sister, Amy Parker of New York state; one granddaughter.
