Jon Shigeho “Spinner” Shibata, 78, of Hilo died April 30, 2013, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born Nov. 9, 1934, in Kalaoa, Papaikou, he was retired agent for Hawaiian Airlines and member of Papaikou Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Komohana Gardens Association.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. May 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Burial will be at 9 a.m. May 23 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests csual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Florence Shibata of Hilo; son, Ricky Shibata of Hilo; daughters, Suzanne Kong of Hilo, Sandee (John) Gee of Long Beach, Calif.; brother, Takumi (Ruth) Shibata of Honolulu; sisters, Hatsuko Tsutsui of Kunia, Oahu, Asayo Rinehart of Montclair, Calif.; two granddaughters; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
