Students from Honokaa High and Intermediate School’s Natural Resources Program recently spent a day at Kalaemano, in order to gain a greater understanding of Native Hawaiian history and culture and its natural resources.

At the cultural interpretative center, Kuulei Keakealani shared the wahi pana, or stories, of Kalaemano. This place was the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishing village. Students saw artifacts, plants and sea life.
