Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, D-2nd, is instituting a districtwide outreach program to connect island-based staff with county residents to assist with casework and other issues. Gabbard is calling the program “Tulsi in Your Town.”

“As a member of Congress, it is my priority to be accessible and available to people in every corner of Hawaii,” Gabbard said. “My constituent outreach plan will maximize my team members in every county. … I encourage people to visit with my staff during these community outreach days to get to know how we can be of assistance, and so they may share their thoughts and opinions about how we can best serve Hawaii and our country.”

Blaise De Lima, Gabbard’s Hawaii Island representative, will make weekly appearances in four communities.

The first Saturday of each month, from 8 a.m. to noon, De Lima will be at the Waimea Farmers Market at Parker School, 65-1224 Lindsey Road.

The second Wednesday of each month, De Lima will be at the Pahala Senior Center, 96-1169 Holei St., from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The third Wednesday of each month, De Lima will be at the Hilo Farmers Market, 400 Kamehameha Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fourth Wednesday of each month, De Lima will be at the West Hawaii Civic Center, at the Mayor’s Office, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Constituents may reach De Lima at blaise.delima@mail.house.gov or 987-5698.

Nathan Miyake will help veterans with casework at events in June and July. The time, dates and locations have yet to be announced. Constituents can reach Miyake at nathan.miyake@mail.house.gov or at 541-1986.

Gabbard’s office is planning additional outreach days. The schedule for those visits will be online at gabbard.house.gov/tulsi-in-your-town as they are scheduled.
