c Hawaii 5, Pacific 2: The Warriors broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the ninth inning to open the series with a win on Friday in Stockton, Calif.
Hawaii (10-29, 5-11 Big West Conference) rallied to tie the game on a two-run double by Stephen Ventimilia in the seventh inning, then completed the comeback with three runs in the ninth inning. Ventimilia had two this on the night. Marc Flores and Kaeo Aliviado each had three hits to lead Hawaii at the plate.
Austin Wobrock (2-for-4) and Trevor Podratz (2-for-4) singled to open the ninth and later scored off a series of Tiger miscues. Kalei Hanawahine sacrifice bunt led to two Tiger errors, and Wobrock and Podratz scored to put the Warriors ahead 4-2. scored the game-winning run. Piikea Kitamura’s capped the scoring with an RBI-single to score Hanawahine from third.
Lawrence Chew (2-1) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. Connor Little started and pitched 6 2/3 innings but left with no decision. He gave up two runs on seven hits before exiting in the seventh inning with a pair of runners on board.
Reliever Bryce Lombardi (0-2) was the pitcher of record for Pacific (10-30, 3-13). Taylor Murphy had two hits to lead the Tigers at the plate.

SOFTBALL
c UC Santa Barbara 4, Hawaii 1 (9 innings): Sami Stark’s three-run home run in the top of the ninth gave UC Santa Barbara the win Friday in Honolulu.
UC Santa Barbara (29-11 overall, 10-9 in the Big West) got singles by Kathryn Pilpil and Lauren Boser to set up Stark’s homer. Boser led UC Santa Barbara with a 2-for-4 night.
Shelby Wisdom (16-14) earned the win, pitching all nine innigs. She gave up one run on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
Kaia Parnaby (34-5) suffered the loss. She allowed four runs on eight hits and no walks. She struck out 14.
Leisha Liilii hit a home run for Hawaii’s (38-11, 15-4) lone run.
