BASEBALL

c Hawaii 7, Cal Poly 6: Hawaii built leads of 5-0 and 7-4 and held on to win the final game of a three-game series Sunday in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Leadoff batter Andre Real hit a triple and a double and drove in two runs to lead the Warriors (8-24 overall, 3-6 Big West) at the plate as part of a 3-for-5 effort.

Piikea Kitamura went 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Conner George and Max Duval each went 2-for-4. George had one RBI.

Corey MacDonald (4-3) gave up six runs on seven hits over seven innings to collect the win. Scott Squier pitched two innings of shutout baseball to earn his first save. He gave up no hits and no walks and struck out two.

Brian Granger (5-3) gave up four runs on seven hits over 1 2/3 innings for Cal Poly (24-9 overall, 6-3) to suffer the loss.

Denver Chavez drove in two runs for the Titans. David Armendariz went 2-for-4.

SOFTBALL

c Cal State-Fullerton 11, Hawaii 3: Kaia Parnaby gave up nine runs (five earned) in only 2 2/3 innings, and Hawaii suffered its first loss in Big West Conference play Sunday in Fullerton, Calif. The game lasted only five innings because of the eight-run mercy rule.

Ariel Tsuchiyama led the Titans (17-25, overall 4-8 Big West) at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Gabby Aragon went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run in the first inning.

The Rainbow Wahine (33-8, 11-1) got all three runs off home runs by Kelly Majam and Sharla Kliebenstein.

Parnaby saw her record drop to 30-4 on the season.

Desiree Ybarra (6-11) pitched the final three innings to earn the win. She gave up no runs on three hits with no walks or strikeouts.
