Rodney Ricardo Keliikanakaole Pilayo Sr., 53, died April 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was the owner of Rod’s Customs, former adult corrections officer for Halawa Security, worked at Sumida’s Auto Body in Kailua, Oahu, and was a foster parent for Catholic Charities Hawaii of Hilo.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Friends may also call at 9:30 a.m. April 18 at St. George Catholic Church in Waimanalo, Oahu, for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Tina Pilayo of Keaau; sons, Brian (Kacey) Pilayo and Damien Pilayo, both of Keaau, Rodney (Leron) Pilayo Jr. and Keaka (Kayla) Pilayo, both of Hilo; daughters, Chanell Medeiros of Waimea, Christina Pilayo of Keaau; father, Federico (Marvaleen) Bilermo of Waimanalo, Oahu; mother, Magdalena Bilermo of Waimanalo, Oahu; sister, Mandy (Rolie) Pajardo of Wahiawa, Oahu; maternal grandmother, Carolina Pilayo of Waimanalo, Oahu; four grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins aunts and uncles.
