Edwin De Coito Sr., 85, of Hilo died March 27, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama facility. Born Nov. 3, 1927, in Hilo, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the state Highways Division and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. April 12 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Papaikou, for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery, Section E. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Bernice De Coito of Hilo; daughter, Beverly (Larry) Fontana of Napa, Calif.; sons, Edwin (Robyn) De Coito Jr. and Michael (Gwendilyn) De Coito, both of Hilo; sister, Violet De Coito of Hilo; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
