Charlotte Malendres

Charlotte Ewalani Malendres, 68, of Orchidland died March 25, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 2, 1945, in Kapoho, she was retired from Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of Sure Foundation Church.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. April 5, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Blaine (Charla) Malendres of Orchidland; daughter, Charlene Malendres of Hilo; hanai son, Kupono (Jan) Kaluna of Waikoloa; brothers, Herbert (Bonnie) Kaluna Jr., of Arizona, Eugene (Gloria) Kaluna of Hilo, Charles (Lyndette) Kaluna of Honolulu; hanai brother, Wesley (Barbara) Kobayashi of Hawaiian Beaches; sisters, Caroline (Achi) Ahin and Kathleen (Solomon) Paio, both of Pahoa; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
