Walter Azevedo

Walter J. Azevedo, 89, of Hilo died March 25, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired manager with Big Island Honda and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Young Men’s Institute Francis Council, Rotary Club of South Hilo and the Ancient Order of Foresters Court Mauna Kea No. 8854 and a charter member of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. April 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park.

He is survived by wife, Christine Azevedo of Hilo; daughters, Virginia (Franklin) Veriato and Annette (Patrick, Sr.) Aiona, both of Hilo, Valerie (Henry Sr.) Pacheco of Wailuku, Maui; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
