Big Island police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted for harassment and sexual assault of a minor on a public bus.

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted for harassment and sexual assault of a minor on a public bus.

Around 3:25 p.m. Jan. 28 the unidentified man touched a female minor while engaging in an indecent act on a Hele-On bus in Waimea near the Lakeland bus stop, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The suspect is described as African-American, tall and thin with short dark hair. He was wearing a RVCA hat and white Beats headphones with a red cord. He may be in Hilo.

Anyone with information on his identity or location is asked to call the department’s nonemergency 935-3311. Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
