The Pacific West Conference baseball game was played at Wong Stadium.
The Antelopes improved to 16-5 overall and 11-1 in the PacWest. The Vulcans dropped to 5-21-1 and 5-15-1, respectively.
Trent Wilson, who earned the victory, started for Grand Canyon and pitched five shutout innings. He allowed five hits while striking out five and walking four. Relievers Austin Bluelow and Kyle Detwiler each followed with a scoreless inning.
Coach Joey Estrella, who will retire at the end of the season, used five pitchers. He started Jeremy Dela Cruz, who went 4 1/3 innings and took the loss. Dela Cruz gave up seven hits and five runs, and he was followed on the mound by Bryce Shandro, Richie Mariano, Jarin Kadooka and Keenan Sadanaga.
Derek Mendoza led the Antelopes’ 13-hit attack with three hits. Brian Kraft, Garrett Jeffries, Steven Swingle and Ryan Tomita each added two hits. Michael Pomroy drove in two runs for the visitors.
No one paired hits for the Vulcans.
Grand Canyon won the opening game of the four-game series 8-5 on Friday, then swept UH-Hilo 1-0 and 1-0 in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Antelopes completed the series with their 10-0 win Sunday.
The Vulcans next host PacWest foe Azusa Pacific University in noon doubleheaders March 25-26 at Wong Stadium.
UH-Hilo then goes on the road to play at Cal Baptist (March 29-30) and Hawaii Pacific University (April 6-7) on Oahu before closing the season at home with a four-game series against Academy of Art University, April 12-13 at Wong.
