Alii Drive is closed between Lunapule and Walua roads because of a downed utility pole at Lunapule Road in Kailua-Kona.
The Hawaii Police Department said the main oceanfront thoroughfare would remain closed to both directions of travel for about six hours while crews were on the scene. Local traffic will be permitted.
