Segunda “Goding” Gandalera, 77, of Captain Cook died Feb. 21 at her home. Born in Captain Cook on July 10, 1935, she was a retired housekeeper and worked at the former Kona Surf Hotel and the Kona Bali Kai Resort, worked for C&W Maintenance as a maintenance person, and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. March 16 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau for a 10 a.m. mass. The family requests casual attire.

She is survived by her sons, Pedro (Carolyn) Gandalira of Kealia; Augie Gandalera and Henry Gandalera, both of Captain Cook; hanai sons, Lino Sebastian of Captain Cook and Keone Case of Kamuela; daughters, Catherine (Mickey, Jr.) LaMarco of Ocean View, Frances (Oscar, Sr.) Garcia of Captain Cook; brothers, Eugene Pancho and Paul (Carol) Pancho, all of Honolulu; brother-in-law, Ed Timboy, Sr., of Honolulu; sisters, Jane Pancho of Hilo, Bobbi (Sam) Pemberton of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
