A Kona man has been charged with burglary for a break-in that occurred late last year in Kailua-Kona, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Jerome Soares, 49, of Kailua-Kona was charged Tuesday with first-degree burglary and second-degree theft in connection with a burglary that took place Dec. 17 at a home on Onaona Drive.
Soares’ bail was set at $35,000. He remains in police custody pending his initial court appearance scheduled for today, police said.
He had been arrested Monday at the courthouse in Kealakekua.
