Rickard “Rick” George Chalker, 66, of Kohala died March 1, 2013, at Kohala Hospital. Born March 20, 1946, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was a landscape designer and owner of Chalker Garden Service, Hawi Farmers Market founder and Kohala Aikikai Dojo member.

He is survived by wife, Chaba Chalker of Kohala; daughter, Tae (Alberto) Marcias of Los Angeles; son, Ewan (Nicky) Chalker of Pennsylvania; brothers, Timothy Chalker of Jacksonville, Fla., Bruce (Lauren Connolly) Chalker of Vero Beach, Fla.; sisters, Eliza (Richard) Wilson of Charlottetown, Canada, Pamela (Ed Warner) Chalker of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.
