Shinkichi “Rusty” Oshiro, 82, of Honokaa died July 30 at his residence. Born in Paauhau, he was a retired journeyman welder for Hamakua Sugar Company and Paauhau Sugar Company, member of the Honokaa United Methodist Church, Hui Uruma and ILWU. Friends may call from 10a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 11 at the Honokaa United Methodist Church; memorial service begins at 11. Casual attire. He is survived by his wife, June Oshiro of Honokaa; sons Stephen Oshiro of Renton, Wash.; Michael (Kim) Oshiro of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Philip (Shihoko) Oshiro of Seattle; daughter Laurie (Theodore) Compehos of Henderson, Nev.; brother Teruo Oshiro of Mililani; sisters Yoshie Zakahi of Honolulu; Shigeko Oshiro of Honolulu; Arleen Sueno Ah Nee of Honolulu; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
