Pedro P. Tayamen, 88, of Naalehu, died Feb. 17, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 27, 1924, in Lapaz, Laoag City, Philippines, he was macadamia nut harvester for Mac Farms of Hawaii. He also was member of the Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends may call March 1 at the family residence in Naalehu for an All Night Vigil. Visitation is from 5 p.m. Friends may call March 2 at the Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic, with visitation from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 9:30 a.m. The family requests casual attire. Burial will follow at Naalehu Community Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Rosita Tayamen of Naalehu; daughters, Gloria Tayamen of Honolulu, Tessie (Zander) Gapusan and Nelly Tayamen of Naalehu; son, Wayne, Sr. (Marilyn) Tayamen of Naalehu; brother, Prodencio (Helen) Tayamen of Naalehu; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
