offers new options
The Kona Surgery Center LLC recently announced the addition of two new surgical procedures now offered at its outpatient surgical center.
One procedure offers treatment for patients with uncontrolled glaucoma or poor compliance or intolerance to medical therapy. The minimally invasive procedure is called canaloplasty or phacocanaloplasty and offers the most promise for control of the glaucoma disease process. Dr. Susan H. Senft is one of three surgeons in the state are able to perform the procedure.
The second procedure is called transanal hemorrhoid dearterialization and is a minimally invasive hemorrhoid technique that uses ultrasound guidance to tie off the arteries feeding hemorrhoid tissues. The advantage of this new procedure is a reduction in pain and a quicker return to normal activity.
