Dan “Danny Boy” Joseph Grotkin, 63, of Keaau died Feb. 6, 2013, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Feb. 22, 1949, in Iowa, he was a supervisor for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., also had worked as a supervisor for Puna Flowers & Foliage and was a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 23 at Kolekole Beach Park Pavilion for a celebration of life. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Joshua (Jill) Grotkin of Keaau, Cash Helman of Kurtistown; daughters, Rebekah (Dean Williamson) Grotkin of Keaau, Kristine (Christopher) Ganir of Kurtistown; brothers, David (Bobbie) Grotkin of Oregon, Tom (Pat) Grotkin of California; sisters, Cathy (Tom) Boeing of Ohio, Teri (Doug) Stevens of California; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
