Goodwill Industries of Hawaii will host Volunteer Income Tax Assistance teams to provide free tax preparation aid for qualified individuals — those making $50,000 or less per year who do not own a home or business. Volunteers will be on hand from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays through April 7. Appointments are recommended for the 74-5599 Luhia St., Suite F-4, Kailua-Kona location. Call 443-5839.
Goodwill is also offering “MyFreeTaxes” to individuals with an adjusted gross income of less than $57,000 per year.

Visually impaired meeting Monday
Derek Inaba, of the Captain Cook Vocational Rehab office, will speak at the local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Hawaii meeting at 10 a.m. Monday at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona. Inaba will speak about the services his office offers, specifically those related to vocational rehabilitation for the blind.

‘Musubi Man’ slated at area libraries
The Honolulu Theatre for Youth will present the “Musubi Man” in West Hawaii Feb. 12 and 13. Admission is free.
The story, a local version of the “Gingerbread Man,” follows a magical musubi on the adventure of a lifetime. The 45-minute performance offers an interactive introduction to literature and is suitable for those ages 3 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Performances are planned for 3 p.m. Tuesdsay at Kailua-Kona Public Library and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Thelma Parker Memorial Public and School Library in Waimea.
