The Hawaii Meth Project and its Teen Advisory Council member Mahealani Yoshida hosted “Blackout Meth Day” Jan. 30 at Konawaena High School to raise awareness of its “not even once” message.
A rally was held at lunchtime in the flagpole courtyard. Students signed and added their handprints to a large-scale pledge against meth. They also learned about the drug’s dangers and took part in anti-meth games and activities.
Student government representatives took photos, collected petition signatures and passed out methproject.org wristbands. After school, Konawaena high- and middle-school students waved signs at the corner of Hawaii Belt and Konawaena School roads.
