Laureena Marie Marston, 27, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded no contest Dec. 31 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. She was sentenced to pay $687 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.

Daniel Loi Kekuanui Pili, 26, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty Dec. 31 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He was sentenced to pay $437 in fines and fees, in addition to an undisclosed fine, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.

Aspen B. Witte, 18, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty Dec. 31 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant and driving without a valid license. She was sentenced to pay $524 in fines and fees, in addition to an undisclosed fine, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.

Hartman Primo, 30, of Waimea, pleaded guilty Jan. 2 to driving with an improper license and driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He was sentenced to pay $449 in fines and fees, in addition to restitution, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. He must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time.

Elijah Castro, 23, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded no contest Jan. 3 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He was sentenced to pay $937 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.

Atsuko Kusunoki Dowling, 65, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty Dec. 27 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. She was sentenced Jan. 3 to pay $687 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. Her license was also revoked and she must install an ignition interlock device.
